Melanie A. Stinson, LMT, is an award-winning artist and screen/writer. She grew up dancing.

A graduate of Bowling Green State University in Ohio, Melanie trained after graduate school at the Swedish Institute College of Massage & Allied Health Sciences in New York City. She developed an interest in Reiki and is now a Reiki Master/teacher who infuses her art with Reiki, so beholders are twice blessed: with the tranformative nature of the art itself and with the healing energy of Reiki, a path to wholeness.

Melanie studied design with the late Tom Davenport at Bowling Green State University. Years later, she studied InDesign and a bit of Photoshop, but Paintshop Pro is the software of choice for most of her digital art.

Most of her work is digital, although she works in other forms such as fiber (macrame), photography, colored pencil and oil pastel, and at times, pottery. She loves creating videos for http://youtube.com/aplace4us

After practicing relaxation and dance massage, Reiki, and Rosen Method Bodywork & Movement for over 10 years in the New York City metro area, Melanie chose energy medicine as her field of body-mind healing and transformation. She feels it truly enhances creativity and imagination.

A Bowling Green, Ohio native, many northwest Ohio residents know Melanie through her involvement with APLACE FOR US/ Kiss of the Fairy and other relaxation/ arts-related events such as Toledo’s Artomatic419, the Old West End Festival,  and the Toledo/Bowling Green Art Walks.

Melanie believes all art is a form of meditation, for viewers and those who create art. Infused with Reiki, another kind of meditation practice and the art can literally sing to you.
